Monitoring of ammonia in rivers Ammonia is a key parameter in river water quality.High concentrations may be toxic for fish and may make drinking water difficult to produce. As ammonia is unstable, sampling systems are unable to provide correct measurements. Only on-line analysers must be used. Thanks to a
unique method based on UV spectroscopy, stable and reliable measurements can be made with the
AM 200 analysers, without using any reagents except sodium hydroxide (NaOH) which is very common, inexpensive and does not pollute the river.
As the measurement is made on the gaseous phase, suspended solids or turbidity do not cause any trouble and
no filtration is required. The
integrated sampling pump makes the
AM200 a compact and easy-to-use system.
The
graphic display (on which are recorded the previous measurements) and the function keys make the
AM200 user-friendly.
As the
AM200 may be operated by an external 12V supply and has a very low consumption (idle mode between the measurements),
solar panels may be easily used.
Datalogging functions are integrated and the measurements can be transferred directly to Excel ® (and other worksheet) by the RS232 port. A phone modem may be added.
